The Creative Generation Agent produces a fresh weekly "drop" of ad creatives — statics, video storyboards, and generated videos — based on your brand context and your creative performance data. This article covers the video side: how videos are generated, the difference between Video briefs and Video Concepts, and the controls that shape them.
The weekly drop
Each week the agent generates a new batch of creatives. The next refresh date is shown at the top of the Creative Generation page (e.g. "Next refresh Monday, 8th June"). You can change the day it runs and how many assets it makes under Creative controls (see below).
Video briefs vs Video Concepts (important)
The page has separate tabs, and the difference matters:
AI Videos tab — Video briefs: storyboards Segwise can generate into finished videos using clips from your footage library. Each brief has a green Generate button to produce the video.
Video Concepts tab — fresh video briefs based on analysis of your top performing videos and competitor ads. If you like these briefs you can click Generate to produce the actual video.
Video Storyboards tab — storyboards outside what Segwise renders. These are meant to be produced externally, so there is no Generate button — just Export PDF to hand the brief to your production team.
Statics tab — static image creatives.
So if a video idea shows only as a storyboard with no "Generate" option, it's a Video Concept for external production, not a Video brief. The videos Segwise generates for you live under the AI Videos tab.
How to generate a video
Open the AI Videos tab on the Creative Generation Agent page.
Pick a Video brief or Video Concept you want to produce.
Click Generate. The Video Generation edit page opens as a pop-up where you can review, refine, and finalise the storyboard before rendering. Use the edit chat on the left to request changes in plain language, review the storyboard preview and timeline in the centre, and check details on the right panel.
Once you're satisfied, click Save changes. Segwise renders the video using B-roll and clips from your footage library.
Review the result: Bookmark the ones you like, or mark Needs Improvement to reject with feedback (which improves future drops). Use Export PDF to download the storyboard.
Use "Show previously generated creatives" at the bottom of the tab to see earlier drops.
Your footage library
Video generation pulls from the B-roll and clips you upload. Go to Creative controls → Your footage and click Add More to upload clips. More variety in your footage means stronger video generations. If the library is empty, add your first clips before generating.
Creative controls (Generation Inputs)
Click Creative controls (top right of the page) to control what goes into your creatives:
Weekly Generation Schedule — choose the day to run and how many statics and video briefs to generate per week. These settings can only be changed once every 6 days.
Brand Context — your brand identity (name, description, services, target audience, colours) used when generating. Edit it in Settings → Brand, or Upload a Brand Deck (PDF).
Your app — app screenshots the agent uses to understand your features and highlight them in ads.
Your footage — the clip library used for video generation (see above).
Creative Constraints — mandatory rules the agent must always follow (e.g. "every ad must include 'T&C apply' in small text at the bottom").
Learnings from Rejections — auto-updated when you reject assets with feedback, so future drops improve. You can also edit or add your own.
Exporting
Only video storyboards (Video briefs and Video Concepts) can be exported as a PDF — use Export PDF to share the brief with your production team. Static images and rendered videos are downloaded, not exported as PDF.
Aspect ratio: Generated videos are available in multiple ratios and can be downloaded in different ratios, ready to launch across your ad networks.
